In Lucknow, Samajwadi Party MLA Pooja Pal has been suspended with immediate effect by party chief Akhilesh Yadav after she praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
During a Vision-2047 discussion in the Assembly’s monsoon session, Pooja Pal stated that the current government’s crime control policies have weakened Atique Ahmad—the accused in her husband’s murder—and credited Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for this. She also mentioned that the Chief Minister recognized her years of hidden suffering.
In an official letter, the Samajwadi Party president said that Pooja Pal’s anti-party activities were harming the party. Despite warnings, she continued such actions, resulting in her expulsion. The letter also stated that she will no longer participate in any party programs, meetings, or activities.
